Rare Beauty Launches Rare Eau de Parfum: A Customizable Fragrance Debut
Selena Gomez introduces Rare Eau de Parfum—warm, spicy, accessible, and made to layer.
A New Chapter: Rare Eau de Parfum
On August 7, 2025, Rare Beauty celebrates its move into fine fragrance with Rare Eau de Parfum, its first-ever perfume. Selena Gomez collaborated with perfumer Jérôme Épinette to craft a scent intentionally warm, decadent, and uniquely modern.
Olfactory Profile
The composition opens with top notes of creamy caramel, pink pepper, and pistachio; transitions into heart notes of vanilla, ginger, and cocoa beans; and finishes with base notes of sandalwood, tonka bean, and skin musks. The fragrance is designed to evolve throughout the day, lasting up to 12hours.
Accessibility by Design
Recognizing her own dexterity challenges from lupus, Gomez ensured the bottle’s pump is oversized and ergonomic—designed alongside certified hand therapists for effortless use. In usability studies, 96% of participants found it easier to press, and 95% reported a more secure grip.
Personalization Through Layering
Rare is launching four complementary Fragrance Layering Balms—Amber Vanilla, Floral Peony Blossom, Fresh Bergamot, and Woody Oak. These portable balms let users mix and match to customize their scent throughout the day, making each experience personal.
Where and When
Rare Eau de Parfum (50mL) is priced at approximately USD $75 (travel spray, 10mL at US$30) and launches globally August 7 via RareBeauty.com and Sephora. 1% of fragrance sales support Rare Impact Fund initiatives.
Why It Matters
This launch marks a maturation of Selena Gomez’s brand ethos—combining thoughtful design, personal storytelling, and customization. Rare Eau de Parfum and its balms reinforce Rare Beauty’s mission of emotional connection and inclusivity.
